Inner pack — protection
Poly bag, tissue wrap, foam or bubble pouch, or a moulded pulp cradle. This is the layer that decides whether the print arrives scuffed, and it is the cheapest place to add protection.
BAOYUANFENG / PACKAGING
A cup that breaks in transit is a product problem, whatever the box looked like. Packing is planned together with the specification — the box, the insert, the carton and the label — because each one is decided by where the product is sold.

THE PACKAGING LAYERS
Most packaging problems come from treating these as one decision. The inner pack protects the surface, the retail unit sells the product, and the master carton survives the journey.
Poly bag, tissue wrap, foam or bubble pouch, or a moulded pulp cradle. This is the layer that decides whether the print arrives scuffed, and it is the cheapest place to add protection.
White box, kraft box, printed carton, sleeve, window box or a gift set with an insert. The dieline, the print method and the board grade all change the price per unit.
Carton grade, pack count, weight limit, shipping marks, barcode and pallet pattern. This is the layer your forwarder and your warehouse will judge you on.
OPTIONS
The list below covers what buyers actually order. Anything outside it is quoted on request, and we will say when a box type is the wrong choice for the product.
| Pack type | Best for | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Poly bag, bulk carton | Wholesale and promotional orders | Cheapest per unit; the carton does all the protecting |
| White or kraft box | Retail and gift, unbranded | Low minimum, quick to produce, print applied as a label or a stamp |
| Printed carton with dieline | Retail shelves and e-commerce | Needs a dieline; board grade and print method are quoted together |
| Sleeve over a plain box | Short runs and seasonal artwork | Cheaper than reprinting a box; the sleeve carries the design |
| Window box | Products that must be seen before purchase | Film window plus board; the product must sit tight or it rattles |
| Gift set with insert | Sets of two or more pieces | Moulded pulp, EVA or card insert — the insert decides the set price |
| Hangtag or header card | Clip-strip and pegboard retail | Hole position and card thickness are specified by the retailer |
| Egg crate and divider | Stemmed glasses and multi-piece sets | The only reliable way to ship stemware in a carton |
BEFORE THE BOX IS MADE
A beautiful dieline on the wrong board arrives as a crushed carton. These are the checks we run before a packaging order is placed.
Internal dimensions against the actual product, with clearance for the bag or wrap. A 2 mm error is a rattling product or a box that will not close.
Corrugated flute, greyboard, kraft or art paper — and whether the artwork is printed, laminated or applied as a label. Each has a different cost floor.
Whether the product needs a cradle, a divider or a bag, and how it behaves in a drop test — a stemmed glass and a tumbler need completely different answers.
Barcode symbology, position, and whether the retailer requires a specific label size. Barcodes are scan-tested, not just printed.
Pack count, carton weight limit, inner dimensions, shipping marks and pallet pattern — set by the channel, not by us.
Amazon FBA, a retail chain and a distributor each have their own carton, labelling and appointment rules. Send the requirement sheet if you have one.
We can propose a structure and a dieline from your product and artwork. If you have a designer, send the file and we will check it against the product and the board grade before sampling.
Yes, and it is separate from the cup minimum. Tell us the box type and the print coverage and it is quoted as its own line — a printed box run and a moulded cup run do not share a setup.
Yes. Send the FBA shipment plan: carton weight and size limits, FNSKU labelling, poly-bag suffocation warnings and the appointment process. The packing is built to that sheet, not to a generic standard.
Carton damage is a transit issue, and it is handled with photos, the packing list and the forwarder's claim process. Drop-testing the packed carton before shipment is what prevents most of it.
Yes. Send it to our address and we will pack against it, with the arrival date planned before production starts. Supplying packaging late is the most common reason a shipment slips.
